First off I would like to thank New England Dragway for letting the club have it's 3 points race there yesterday they welcomed us with open arms and it made for a great day.

Our 3rd points race of the season started with 30 club members showing up to do battle on the 1320. It was nice to see Jan Richardson is his bad Malibu wagon out for his first time with the club. After the 2 qualifying rounds the man on the top of the ladder was Lionel Gendron with a .001 light to get him the #1 qualifying spot for the day. First round brought a few surprises to the ladder with not 1 father and son team taking on each other in the first round but 2 father and son teams doing battle. It was a battle of Jeff Bruso going against his son Justin Bruso and Wayne Farquhar going against his son Jesse Farquhar, when the smoke settle it was Wayne getting the Father's Day present from his son and Justin Bruso showing his day that the kids are not to be taking lightly when it comes to doing battle on race day.

Second round again brought another family battle it was Keith Rice taking on his father Charlie Rice and let's just say Charlie showed Keith that the old man still has it giving him the old burp burp at the stripe to take the win and move on to the next round.

In the semi-finals we saw 2 of the top 5 guys Erik Cheverier and Scott Whittier still in the race gathering points to the standings and Dan McHugh and Matt Carelli trying to stop them from getting anymore points for the day. The race between Matt and Erik found Matt turning on the red-light and giving the automatic win to Erik to appear in the finals against the winner of the race between Scott and Dan. If Scott was able to beat Dan in his semi-finals race not only would it be a re-match of the last race at Lebanonvally Dragway but it would have given Scott a chance to double up and win back to back races. Dan had a better idea and it was to end Scott's day and put himself in the finals against Erik.

It was final round time and both racers were lock and ready to do battle. Erik dialed his Chevelle just as it was the round before and Dan doing the same thing, so either way it was going be a great final round race. After the long smokey burnouts both drivers staged and ready Erik left with the wheels up and Dan turned on the big bad Red light giving the win to Erik and his first win in 10 years.

Congrats to Erik and Donna Cheverier on your win and Dan and Tim McHugh and a runner up for Brookside Machine. All in all it was a great day at New England Dragway and thanks to everyone who came out to race with us yesterday. The next race is July 20th at LVD and it is gamblers/invitational race. The next meeting is June 27th.

Congrats to Eric on his win and Dan on his RU. What an interesting year so far. Three races down and nobody with the last name Rice in the winners circle. UNBELIEVEABLE.
