Ilias H. Dellas, 74, of Worcester fell asleep with the Lord, Thursday, March 22nd in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Alexandra (Koulisis) Dellas; two sons, Gregory I. Dellas and his wife, Georgia of Lowell and Paul Dellas and his wife, Jennifer of Millbury; a sister, Katerina Dellas of Anthousa, Parga, Greece; three grandchildren, Elias G. Dellas, Maria V. Dellas and Dimitrios A. Dellas; and many nieces and nephews here and in Greece. He was predeceased by two brothers, Konstantinos Dellas and Dimitrios Dellas and four brothers-in- law, John, George, Kosta and Dimitrios Koulisis.
He was born in Anthousa, Parga, Greece the son of Hristos and Eugenia (Metropoulo) Dellas and served in the Greek Army. Ilias was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and a former member of AHEPA. Mr. Dellas worked for Table Talk Pie Company for 25 years as a baker, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His funeral is Tuesday, March 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday, March 26th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral Building Fund, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
