Hi Everyone
It has been brought to our attention by IHRA.

Master Cutoff Page 102 in General regulations all classes

Mandatory if battery is relocated or is specified by class requirements.
It must be located on the rear of all entires and must break the positive side battery supply to the competition vehicle. It must be easily identifiable an clearly labeled as to function PUSH OFF
This is not a rule change. It has been overlooked.
Any race car having a turn switch marked on-off will have to change it to a push off.
This applies to race cars only not street cars, daily drivers.
Meaning of street car or daily drivers.
Must have valid registration and inspection sticker.

We will give everyone that has the (turn switch off-on) a grace period to june 1st -09 to change it.

Than you.

Sucks. Just a way of making $$$ I bet you someone in the IHRA owns part of Flaming river. Turning a switch to the left is so hard.

Pg 275 in the 09 NHRA rule book states:

The off position "must be clearly indicated with the word "OFF"
If switch is "push/pull type", "PUSH" must be the action for shutting off the electricsl system,
"PULL" to turn it on.

ATTENTION ALL.........

Buddy just called me and asked me to post this as he is having some computer issues.

Please do not make any changes to your kill switch just yet. Buddy will be calling Mike Baker at IHRA tomorrow and will get a clear answer as to what the rule exactly calls for.

Please stay tuned and something will be posted as soon as possible as to the outcome.

Thank you for your cooperation.

THE RESULTS FROM BUDDY ARE AS SAID BELOW

Hi everyone

With everyones blood pressure up let me lower it a few clicks

I had a long conversation with Mike Baker today on the subject of
Master Cut Off. switch..

The wording in the general rules is not correct. It should be.

Mandatory if battery is relocated or is class requirements.
It must be located on the rear of all entries and must be easily identifiable and clearly labeled as to function on/off, push off.
The classes that require it are.

Pro Mod
Pro Stock
Top Sportsman
Top Dragster
Super Rod
So unless you have one of the above. You are O.K
Mike said he will try to put a revision out.
New England Dragway will post clarification on our web site.

IHRA as posted the rule revision for Master cut off

P 102 Master Cutoff:
Replace the last sentence of the section with the following:

If the switch is mounted to facilitate a push or pull activation, it must be positioned in a way where off is in the push position.

If the switch is mounted in any other fashion, it must be labeled in a way that is clearly identifiable as to which way off is positioned.
