NED tech director Buddy Scurto mentioned the SFI spec's on Transmission Shields at the ATI last Saturday
Transmission Shield meeting SFI spec 4.1 mandatory on all Automatic transmission equipped entries running 10.99 and quicker 1/4 mile or 6.99 and quicker in the 1/8 mile.
SFI 4.1 spec Automatic Transmission Shields (Rigid) - 5 years expiration
SFI 4.1 spec Automatic Transmission Shields (Flexible)- 2 years expiration
SFI 29.1 Flexplate mandatory if vehicle exceeds 135mph - 3 year expiration
SFI 30.1 Automatic Flexplate Shield are mandatory on entries running 9.99 and quicker 1/4 mile and 6.49 in the 1/8. - 5 year expiration
