Dear Membership;
It Is with shame and sorrow I sit and write this post not only on behalf of the E-Board, but every member of the club. I was notified this morning of a couple of incidents that occured during and after our meeting last night. First, I was told a few months ago that certain individuals when leaving the meetings were doing donuts in the parking lot,also doing burnouts etc. in the street and in the parking lot. I was asked to please say something about at the next meeting. I spoke at the following meeting and even the meeting after that and asked everyone to refrain from screwing around both in and around the Legion Post. Well, last night someone felt compelled to ignore our request and do a burnout in the street anyway. Second, while the meeting was taking place, someone, be it one person or person decided to do some damage to the upstairs bathroom. I wont get in to specifics about the damage done, but I should not have to.
The Shannon Davis American Legion Post and especially Bill Hawes the building manager and fellow CMDR member has been nothing short of friends and host to us since the clubs inception. They have always been there for us and never asked for anything in return. It is of there opinion and I cant blame them that we should take our meetings elsewhere.
Lets cut now to the chase. I feel that what happened last night was not only a slap in my face, the E-Board, our friends at the Post,especially Billy Hawes, but also to you the membership. I personally dont take very kind to these types of things and I hope you wont either. We wont stand by and let a few ruin it for the rest of us. Or will we?
Simply put, We want to know who it was. As the President of the club I am asking for your help. This needs to stop right now! Someone knows, and I need them to get in touch with me as soon as possible. Your name will never come up, and you will be doing all of us a big favor.
As i sit and wrap up this message I cant help but wonder about this clubs future.
I hope you will do the same.
I can be reached at 508-341-1270
